About Stones & Sparrows
We're a group of friends from all over the U.S. who met online through our love of Bible journaling. Our passion for Jesus, paint, and really good pens bonded us instantly, and before long we began to feel God nudging us to collaborate and share the lessons God was laying on our hearts beyond the walls of our group text conversation. After prayerful consideration, we decided to start a weekly newsletter where we could take turns writing devotionals inspired by Scripture, our personal experiences, and our Bible journaling process. The name of our newsletter, Stones & Sparrows, comes from Genesis 31:46, where Jacob instructs his family to gather stones to build an altar, and Matthew 10:31, where Jesus promises that we are all more valuable than sparrows. Here at Stones & Sparrows, we share a collective heart for community and building each other up. We believe in gathering stones to build altars, rather than casting them at others. We believe in the power of community and the redemptive love of Christ. We believe that connecting with Scripture on a personal level is transformative and life-giving. And we believe that God loves each us more than we could ever imagine, for we are so much greater than sparrows.
